Aftercare for Sensitive Skin
Getting the most out of your wax depends partly on what you do afterward. In the first 24 hours:
- Avoid heat: Skip hot showers, saunas, steam rooms and sun exposure to protect freshly treated skin.
- Keep it clean and cool: Avoid intense workouts, pools and tight clothing that traps sweat.
- Avoid harsh products: Skip fragranced lotions, spray tans and active chemical peels on treated areas for at least 48 hours.
We apply a cooling gel after every treatment to help your skin settle.
Long-Term Maintenance
Once your skin has recovered (after about 48 hours), gently exfoliate two to three times a week with a soft mitt or a mild exfoliating wash to prevent ingrown hairs, and follow with a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser to keep skin comfortable between visits.
Understanding Hair Growth Cycles
Getting the most out of regular waxing comes down to understanding how hair actually grows. Each follicle moves through three phases independently.
1. Anagen (Active Growth)
The hair is attached to its blood supply and actively growing. Waxing during this phase removes the hair directly from the root, so it takes longer for a new hair to reach the surface.
2. Catagen & Telogen (Transition & Resting)
The hair detaches from its root and gradually moves toward the surface before shedding. If we wax a hair already in this resting phase, a new one may already be forming underneath — which is why some fine regrowth can appear sooner after your first appointment.
3. Why Regular Appointments Help
Booking consistently, roughly every four weeks, gradually brings more of your hairs into the same growth phase. Over time this means more hair is removed in each session, and regrowth tends to come back finer and slower.
